Addressing Atheism

25% of Americans claim no religious affiliation. Can you blame them? When you’re told to ignore your doubts and “just believe,” you’re set up to give up the God thing.

This book’s goal is to start you on a path where you can believe in God without checking your brain at the door.

Description

I passionately believe there is only a thin line separating sincere non-believer from sincere believer.

The foundation of Addressing Atheism is simple. Being honest with your doubts, as well as with the experiences that are uniquely yours, may lead to a faith that both makes sense and feels right.

This book will take you down a path where you will look at yourself, God, the Bible, Jesus and church with refreshing honesty. No matter if you’re a believer or an atheist, the common starting point is asking the same stark questions.

Our human limitations and subjectivity provide common ground for us to learn from each other regardless of belief or lack of belief. Within that context, an atheist will have an opportunity to view faith from a broader perspective while a believer will be challenged to use both mind and heart to grow deeper spiritually. By opening up to God in a broader fashion like this, we’re better able to open up to each other as well.

Addressing Atheism challenges you to gain a perspective on life that’s a lot deeper than the shallow pool of surface-culture living. It may open you to a belief in God, or it may not. Regardless, I believe this book will help you glimpse some signposts that direct us on this mystery called life.

I sincerely hope you’ll journey with me. Drop me an email–I’d love to hear your thoughts and reflections!

Testimonials

“Greg has a way of making you think about a topic in a different manner.  When discussing the Bible, he creates a discussion that both atheist and fundamental Christians should both engage in in order to hold a productive conversation concerning a topic that appears very clear to each party.  This book is relevant to anyone searching out a deeper meaning of their own faith and open to ideas that could challenge their way of thinking about God, Christ, and the Bible."

“As someone on the opposite side of the theological spectrum from Pastor Weeks, I appreciate his ability to discuss faith in a personal way without trying to score easy points with fellow believers. (He even gives credit to the other side where it's due, which is a rare treat these  days!)  We come to very different conclusions about God, but I have a lot of respect for people who open themselves up to debate and discussion. Addressing Atheism is an excellent starting point for Christians seeking out conversations with atheists.”
